To accelerate our success and growth within the European Market, Edmund Optics is looking for a

Sales Manager DACH (f/m/d)

 

Through an active field presence, the sales manager will proactively act as a sales representative and sell Edmund Optics' products and services to existing as well as future customers, within the allocated region. With the support of the Customer Service, Engineering and Business Development Teams, the position holder will be in charge of the entire sales cycle: lead identifications, product presentations, quote preparation, technical and commercial negotiations within the region.

To succeed in this role, you will benefit from the extensive knowledge base of our organization and support from experienced sales managers. You will be thoroughly trained to our products, services and marketing techniques to close sales and expand our market share.

Your customers’ contacts will be procurement managers, technicians and engineers in high tech/scientific organizations ranging from global corporations to start-up companies and research laboratories.

Essential Functions:

  • Supporting and expanding existing and potential key account customers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria
  • Visiting customers, presenting the company and our products as well as developing business relationships
  • Identifying the customer’s needs, requirements and potential for potential co-operations
  • Progressing and developing customer relationships with key decision makers in purchasing, development, production and management
  • Identifying, exploring and building new contacts, prospecting new customers
  • Discussing technical feasibility of new projects with customers
  • Actively working on and managing OEM opportunities and RFQs
  • Creating, negotiating and closing out quotations
  • Continuous documentation and follow-up of contacts, projects and offers leading to successful sales transactions including the respective reporting
  • Frequent interactions with R&D, production, application, marketing and sales across Edmund Optics’ organization
  • Preparing and analyzing market data
  • Participating regularly in national and international meetings and trade shows

Your profile:

  • Minimum Diploma, B.Sc. or M.Sc. in either an optics related technical field or physics, electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Min. 2 years working experience in a sales position in optics/photonics or imaging is required
  • Fluency in English and German, another European language is a plus
  • Profound MS Office, CRM & SAP experience is nice to have
  • Positive and professional representation of the company
  • Great communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel within the sales area and worldwide, valid international driving license
